Bored on night shift and I am watching "Barabbas" with Anthony Quinn. The 50s and even early 60s were good for Biblical epics. At some point something changed but in our parents lifetime this was ostensibly not the case.

In the boxed set of I Love Lucy there is an interview with Desi Arnaz talking patriotically and about the importance of wholesome t.v. I know he was a womanizer, but he was also sincere about America, being a good citizen, and being a good influence through his shows.
