I briefly worked in a clean room at NCR some years back in Colorado, pellicle inspecting and other QA jobs. It was not as involved as you describe though. What transpires in a virus lab obviously is quite a mystery to most people who readily believe that some layers of cloth or paper and social isolating will offer any protection whatsoever from viral contact.
