Just to entertain the thought and question, there is this in The Constitution:
“No Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them [The United States]], shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”
We respect foreign nobility, but actual Americans don’t support any kind of American “nobility.”
I would also like to ad that I’m fairly certain that the “without the Consent of Congress” part was not in the original wording.
