My family and I had Covid last year.
My son recovered quickly with no symptoms left.
My husband and I lost our smell and taste for about 4-6 weeks. In my case, it returned completely, but my husband, after nearly one year, is still struggling. He tastes only little and avoids certain foods, because they have no taste at all or taste differently. He also has had the smell of something burning in his nose. It's better now, but not gone.
I have a acquaintance who got "it" (as I don't think any of us truly know what "it" is) about a year ago April 15th. Similar to your husband, he's went through a series of issues with taste and smell. He even had a period of 2-3 months where he couldn't stand the taste or smell of any meat. This guy is a red neck carnivore, so that phase put a dent in his day. It's been fading harder since around late Jan. Bazaar crap.
I lost my smell for a week and couldn’t taste garlic. Sweet and salty were amplified but the rest of taste was blah. I could Inhale liquor bottles and nothing would report back. No sensation. It’s all back now.
I’m sorry your husband is still stifling. Have you tried to see if he can smell
Coconut oil? Garlic?
He can smell very strong things like fresh grained coffee, lemon juice etc.
But his beloved red wine doesn't taste as before, so he had switch to white wine, lol.
