I used to be one with everything on some unexplainable level. I used to yield right of way to a bird crossing my path. I used to feel priviledged to stand last in line and give my place to others. I used to see those around me, the elderly and infirmed and feel their pain and loneliness but experience a kind of joy in the empathy. I watched my mother pass without the grief of my siblings because the experience made me feel the immortality of it all. It was a spontaneous religious epiphany and was the closest to God I have ever been. People may be exploiting it, but the whole we are all one trip does not work like you think. New agers are try hards tho.
