I live in the South East. It rhymes with Fentucky. Every other day I am hearing a loud rumbling, only to look up and see the largest rotary craft engine ever, usually heading south west, definitely 10,000+ But by golly it is the loudest thing in the sky, Nothing showing up on radar, imagine that. Occasional black hawk flying the area incredibly low, definitely not on radar.

The Jet aircraft I pay no attention to. Rotary wing craft are EMP resistant in a lot of cases.
Chinook or Osprey?
Oh no, I should have clarified rotary wing... Like, looks, skinnier, but larger than c130 large...
A CH53 super stallion perhaps or the US 101 (derivative of the EH101) pretty big helicopters?
I apologize for not including it in the title but it was a winged craft, rotary engines, atleast 4 but possibly 6..
Ok then it can only be a V22 Osprey. Great piece of engineering! Search for that on images.
no no no... It was not a helicopter, of any sorts. It was a rotary fixed wing craft like a c130... But way larger...
Hang on mate, Rotary would normally denote helicopter? Fixed wing is well a fixed wing?
Do you mean "propeller" driven? If so then maybe an A400 it's very similar to a C130 but much bigger, has a high wing just like the 130.
My confusion with the V22 is because it's both rotary and fixed wing, it's the engines that move from the vertical to horizontal for forward flight.
Image search for the A400.
oh yeahhhhh.. Sorry about that. I tried to look up the correct verbiage by comparing it to a c130 and wikipedia told me it was a rotary engine, fixed wing craft. My assumption was that rotary just implied non jet propulsion. I do apologize for the confusion.
I love watching Ospeys but unfortunately I never see them flying over Northern Fentucky. I at least get to see them occasionally over the last couple months when I'm over in the far-Western portion of the state though.
Probably ospreys. I see them all the time these days.
North/Central Fentucky here: heard one that sounded pretty close & loud when I was outside earlier, but when I walked around my house to take a look I realized that it was way further away than I initially expected.
exactly! I thought a pair of cessnas were flying low/tandem but when I looked up and saw that thing I was kinda heavily impressed.
One thing I will say is that military air traffic is up all over the US. Monkey pointed out the massive amounts of P8's (Sub hunters) on the east coast of the US. I can confirm this from family down in Florida who said they're patrolling over the water sometimes only a few hundred feet off the water and this is not normal. Also, over the UK military air traffic is at crazy high levels.
