Couple of things:

Sounds like controlled opposition or a hit piece to me. Even if this Cullen guy was trying to make this a fair documentary, HBO has editorial power and will do whatever they want with it.

I highly doubt that Ron was part of any of the plan other than offering a platform for Q to communicate. That won't stop HBO from trying to associate him with it, allow him to get into the spotlight, then use his past to tear him down and bring Q down by association.

If Ron is saying the planned failed it's likely for one of two reasons, he is part of the disinformation version of the plan (mass arrests on Jan 20th) knowingly/unknowingly or he saying that to take the heat off himself regardless of if it's true.

Either way this will likely prove to be a bad move, especially if Ron's past is as checkered as we've hearing.
