I couldn't believe what I heard on OANN this evening with Trump urging his supporters to take the vaccine. Does anyone have an explanation for this?
Maybe he wants to destroy the widely held belief that his supporters do whatever he tells them to blindly because they're brainwashed.
That's a good point.
Thanks! I thought of this in real time today when I saw a libtard comment on a meme I shared that said "Jeffrey Epstein's friends say you should take the vaccine".
To which they responded with "Trump thinks you should take the vaccine too". And linked the fox phone interview video.
And my instinctive response I'm my fury was, "Trump also said he values freedom of choice too. And it's funny how the left widely believes that Trump supporters will follow him blindly and do whatever he says, but now all of a sudden we are all resisting the vaccine even regardless of what Trump says"
I saw that he was typing a follow up comment after that, but then the "so and so is typing" disappeared and he didn't have a reply.
I honestly think this would make alot of sense.
Good response. Someone else suggested I go back to the original quote and parse the wording.
Did he really urge them to go get the vaccine or did he simply say, as on Fox, « I would recommend it but I know many of those who voted for me don’t want to get it and I understand that too. It’s their choice and it’s important to have that freedom ». That’s not exactly pushing people to get the vaccine whatever it takes.
Secondly, even among Trump supporters there are people who are brainwashed regarding Covid. They do think they’re going to die. We say the vaccine is very dangerous ; I’m not sure it is because people are not dropping dead and dying as soon as they get it. I’m not denying there are side effects and long term effects that we don’t know about (just to be clear : I am not getting that vaccine myself, never). But people are scared, and this is a way forward to stop being scared. Moreover, Trump has to take credit for this. He certainly cannot let Biden get away with being the one who ended Covid.
Good retort. When in doubt, go back and parse the actual wording. I stand corrected. Thank you.
