I stayed away from ALL politics. Never registered to vote since I didn't feel like my vote mattered. I had to look up what it meant to be "liberal" and "conservative". I just focused on making the best life as I could while avoiding social media and MSM. Little did I know how important it was to be off of them. I started learning more after this exchange with a friend:
Friend: "I feel so stressed out and overwhelmed all of the time." Me: "I feel great and relaxed. Do you happen to be on social media and watching the news?" Friend: "Yeah, I like knowing what's going on." Me: "Hmm.. I'm okay with living life not knowing the latest and greatest every single second. Oh, and I don't feel stressed and overwhelmed. You might try disconnecting sometime from our tech." Friend: "Hmmm you might be onto something."
I assumed that politics were too complex for me to grasp or make a difference. I thought this for over a decade. And then I started watching both speeches from the politicians. I kept searching for unedited broadcasts. The MSM always just showed the single camera view of Biden or Trump. I came across RSBN and started seeing the crowds. I ended up registering to vote for the first time and proudly voting for Trump. I still remember the question at the voting booth, "do you want paper or the machine?" I chose paper.
Then, I drove from California by myself to be there on Jan. 6th to have one of the most fondly memorable days of my life!
So, I was COMPLETELY asleep to so many things, and now I'm quite awake.
