we had things called measles parties when I was a puppy.

If any of the local kids caught a common infection such as chicken pox, measles, etc, we all had to mingle and try to catch it, so that the body would develop it's anti bodies. Granny knows best.

I remember those. I think that's how I got chickenpox and measles. Never got mumps, though....
