If you see who got hanged by Lincoln after the civil war, you will notice that media had already been captured even then. Infact they used the media to instigate the civil war, which could have been avoided if people were left to resolve the issues on their own, because everyone by then knew the reality that slavery had to end. But the media ensured there was so much hatred and division that millions had to suffer.
