Where did it all go? Couldn’t people tell the rock fragments of used for public works, etc. aren’t coming from a traditional quarry? Just seems like a whole bunch of rock waste out there that nobody has ever explained or brought up as far as I know? .... any ideas? This been covered somewhere?

A bunch of Vietnamese farmers built an elaborate series of underground tunnels that spanned miles and helped them evade the U.S. Military during the war.
Imagine what we've done with decades and trillions of dollars.
True, but their tunnels were mostly man sized. I am taking about tunnels a airliner could fit through
I was there in 2000 and took the tour. It was fascinating what they were able to accomplish with handheld tools and baskets.
However, those tunnels only go through earth which would be easy for farmers to dispose of if they didn't just dump it in the river (they also had underwater exists).
Also, large sections of those tunnels are very small - think crawling through an HVAC duct. As I understand, most American soldiers were too large to fit.
