Finally after decades of seeing Americanisms creep into English English we managed to get a win! Years ago we used to have hard discs not hard disks, nobody ever had their kid tell them "you suck", and when you went on vacation, er I mean on holiday, you flew on an aeroplane.

By the way I'm British and I also think jab is a pathetically stupid word but - my country right or wrong.
What Americans call "a shot" Brits call "a jab." Sometimes you're seeing actual dialect differences, not cutesy nicknames.
