I dont think high IQ leads to differing ideas, it just leads one to arrive at the same inescapable conclusions a little quicker than the average person given the same stimuli and inputs.
When AIs become a thing, it will be the measure of the quality of an AI as to how quickly the AI decides that killing all the bankers is the best way to fix the world. The quicker, the better it is. Not megaflops or bogomips or anything else that's a synthetic benchmark, rather how many seconds to deduce the needed steps to save the world.
IQ = processing speed. My IQ is approximately 140 (supposedly) and it is ridiculous how little effort I have to devote to learning things compared to "average" people.
What's terrifying is that half of people are below average, and they are closer in intellect to mental retardation than they are to me, and I'm not even close to being a genius.

That’s the mean, not the average.
For example, the average of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 100 is 77.5. Almost 90% of the values are well below the average.
The mean however is 6 so 1/2 the values are below and 1/2 above.
