Yes. I had no idea, until years ago I was in Europe. Met a couple of international students from Africa who asked where I was from. "Oh, a small town near...well, you've probably never heard of the nearest city, but it's called Charlotte." And these got SO excited, going on about the Charlotte Hornets. Who knew?
