There is a serious probability that the grounded Ever Given will need to be unloaded if tugs cannot pull her free.
I wonder what that cargo will be from China? Don't you?
Update: the people trying to move the ship cannot contact the owner. The ship lessor (Evergreen Marine) stated a "Taiwanese owner" according to british msm papers. They also claimed the owner stated it was "high winds" that caused the ship to run aground.
Rip it open now . They've got victims of human trafficking in there . Prove us wrong!
For sure they are not going to inspect the containers. Their focus will be to get that canal unblocked and moving again. They aren't going to give a fook what is in the containers - they just want them out of the canal.
Isn't each container weighed? that would be a big tell if there are people or steel inside the container. Wouldn't the manifest show that? Idk. Guessing.
Chances are against it..
"the international liner shipping industry transported approximately 130 million containers packed with cargo, with an estimated value of more than $4 trillion."

Just because some people have been shipped in containers, and there is no doubt of that, it doesn't mean every container ship is carrying contraband.
