It comes up, deploys the dish and starts tracking satellites. I went from shit tier rural internet to 150MBs in 5 minutes the day I got mine. It's amazing.
But I also think based on Elon's cryptic posts lately that he knows a lot more than he's letting on. I'm wondering if Starlink will be used to spread info after the storm hits since it's independent of the big ISPs.
Depends. If you're rural with no cell coverage or regular internet, $99 a month for Starlink is cheaper than satellite.
The dish itself is $500 I think...maybe 600. BUT it costs them over $2000 to make them and you have no commitment. I can cancel tomorrow if I want. They also just updated my firmware last week to I'm getting over 300MBs now
