Forfeiting their money and seats ensures that what they are speaking against just goes on without them. De-mask at, say, 30,000 ft and what are they gonna do? Call the Sky Police? Turn the plane around? Continue on to the destination to arrest everyone? Mayhem is what is needed. We've all been just walking away far too long...
I agree and disagree. It makes even more of a statement that these people are willing to forfeit ther ticket as well as buy another, with another airline. This is what we need now, mayhem can come later.
Fair question. Consider this. If all passengers do it, how will that information be communicated to PIC by attendants? Would it be possible that attendant could freak out, leading to PIC to freak out?
If this were the only means to protest, ok, I think we could argue. But the point was made on the ground: Fly empty planes if you want to be Gestapo Air. That's the message the air lines need to hear. Keep the focus on that.

I love this protest but would advise not to fuck around in the air. Bad bad idea. PIC may be confused.
The point has been made here effectively and no one can claim there was a lack of safety by those speaking their minds.
We’re NOT GONNA TAKE IT!!
How is taking a mask off considered "fucking around in the air"?

That's true.
