So, according to the ship owner, there was no blackout that caused the ship to wedge as it did. If true, that would leave two possibilities...incompetence, or intention. I'm leaning to the latter.

Truth never needs a revision. I think something's fishy. When you have a blackout of anything, you most certainly know it.
