Maria, Gordon, and Luis were on Sesame Street in the 70s. Everyone is welcome, including green fairies, giant yellow birds, and two-headed monsters. Elmo has never asked why anyone was purple or blue or brown, even while he sang with Alicia Keys and Norah Jones. But NOW, suddenly, he wants to know why someone has brown skin?? ??
