"Make your depth 50 feet, 0 bubble, is a submarine term for Periscope Depth, the depth a sub needs to be able to look out the periscope and observe what is on the surface of the water, yet the sub itself is under water and not seen. Many subs in WW2 and later would come to periscope depth to double check their fixes (Fire Control Solutions) on enemy combatants before they started to attack those combatants.
