This is just a small experience I had last week. Our fridge broke down last weekend so we had to make a trip to town to look for a new one. First we went to a scratch and dent store, I had brought my mask but told the hubby I'm not putting it on since it didn't look like there was anyone in the store anyhow. There was one customer there when we entered and one employee. Both had masks on. The customer left and the employee, seeing we weren't wearing our masks, took hers off and never put it back on the whole time we were there and speaking with her. (Yay!)
Needless to say, no luck finding the right size fridge there so onward to Home Depot. Hubby stated they pretty much push the mask wearing there so reluctantly I put one on. Walked down our first isle and I noticed a family of 3 not wearing masks. Something came over me and I ripped off my face and said 'Fuck this!'. Hubby then takes his off. Took a selfie and sent it to my kids. What a freeing moment it was!
It's these little steps we all need to take to embolden others as I was at that time.

Makes you stand a little taller, doesn't it?
?
Yes it does :). As for follow up, the next day our fridge decided to start cooling properly again and has been fine since. Prior to that, our milk was spoiling over the past 3 weeks. We thought it was bad milk even though the expire dates werent even close. Decided to manually check the fridge temp and it wasn't good. So in the end we spent $1500 on a new fridge thats coming Wednesday. But our old one is 20 years old so time for a new one anyhow..lol.
Sounds like the circulation fan temporarily seized. It WILL go out before long if that's what it is. Search replacement procedure, usually not too bad..
Thanks. For now it will be retiring to the garage as a beer fridge. Looking forward to the new one.
Glad things worked out. Did you check the coils for dust buildup or the condensation pan for buildup? Might be good for another 20 years.
We did and they were fine. I cleaned them well last year because we had a damn mouse die in the back of the fridge last year and since I was back there I did a thorough cleaning of all the coils etc.
I guess it varies by state. Here in Tennessee, I have been able to go without the mask the entire time. I had to switch to drive-through at the bank and had to fake that I was putting one on as I walked past the Gestapo at Whole Foods.
Starbucks used to try to enforce things, but I just switched to White Bison.
Home Depot had signs and I got stares, but never a word. Walmart has a Gestapo looking emaciated dweeb with an iPad, but he is just counting the number who comply.
I know other states are much more draconian in their enforcement.
Can confirm; was in East TN in November coming from around DC and wow it was freeing not seeing everyone muzzled and walking around in fear.
This morning I was out for a walk in the park in the crisp Spring air on a generously paved path of about 8' wide--thanks county park service. As an older woman approaches me jogging, I move to one side of the path to be considerate. It's a fault at times, I know. The woman still looks at me with a furrowed brow and takes an even wider berth around me, whimpering slightly as one of my dogs was running more than 10 feet away from her. It would have to be a real actual phobia for her to react to my dog from that far away. It was just sad; I felt sorry for this woman, jogging while masked and fearful of other humans. We weren't made to be like that. God save us, we'll help.
Plenty of dogs attack runners from far away. Just leash your fucking dog. Lots of women carry mace. I do.
It was on a leash, dick.
I wore a mask into stores for a couple months here in Minnesota. I never wore it over my nose. But my parents have yet to wear a mask. If they get asked, they just say no thanks or I can't wear one. I haven't been wearing a mask now too. It's so uplifting when you see another non-masker in a store. I try to say something anytime I see one, Just words of encouragement. It's fun to see them smile or laugh. "Nice to see your face" "stay strong"
I'm in Minnesota too :) See more people going without masks gradually so let's hope it continues!
I'm getting old. I remember when women felt that way about their bras. Very liberating...and fun to see!
But did you find the "frig?"
