Oh, I have no doubt about this. Believed this for months.
There's a prayer in Judaism (and I think Jesus mentions it too in the Gospels) called the Via'hafta. The translation in English roughly is (going from memory): "You shall love the Lord your G-d with all your heart, all your mind, all your being. Take these words I give to you in your heart. Teach them to your children, bind them as a symbol on your hand and before your eyes, on your gate, speak of them when you are at home, on your way, when you lie down, when you rise up.).
So basically it means, remember the Lord all the time.
There are even rituals as some of these instructions are taken literally. Orthodox Jews practice a daily ritual called Tefillin, where they take boxes of the scroll and wrap them around their arm and on a headband with the phylactery over the forehead. (This is symbol on your hand and before your eyes). And the mezuzah over the door is the "on your gate" part.
These are daily and visual reminders to remember the Mitzvot, the commandments of G-d.
There is no doubt in my mind this is part of the purpose of the masks -- keep Covid on the consciousness.
