I went to school with a Thalidomide kid. He had just one arm, about six inches long with a couple of fingers at the end. He could pull his billfold out of his shirt pocket to pay for his lunch in the cafeteria, balance the plate between his chin and his arm, and hold his fork with those two fingers. He was well-adjusted and had a lot of friends.
