This is extent to which 'the captain' of the Ever Given is addressed in a WAPO article published today, 'Suez Canal pilots come under scrutiny after grounding of ship'
“The captain has the sole responsibility for directing the ship,” the senior pilot said. “The pilots can offer their guidance and opinions, but the captain can choose to refuse it.”
The captain has to be present at all times on the bridge and give the orders to the helm, to the engines and tugs, taking into account the pilot’s directions, according to international maritime law. The captain has to keep the pilot informed of any problems with the handling of the vessel “so that the pilot might be in a position to give better advice to control the navigation and movement of the vessel,” the law reads. Ultimately, “the responsibility falls completely” on the captain, it adds.
Captain Marwa Elselehdar's name has been the only name put out there and there are so many denials in the media it makes me wonder. We'll see, as eventually, the captain's name must be revealed.
Ever Given[note 1] is a Golden-class container ship, one of the largest container ships in the world. The ship is owned by Shoei Kisen Kaisha (a shipowning and leasing subsidiary of the large Japanese shipbuilding company Imabari Shipbuilding)

All I could find was that the entire crew was Indian.

Thank you for the article , Fren. The captain of the Ever Given is not named in this article, either.
Well dang it doesn't. Sorry, I read it too quickly last night. There only other thing I've found is that the crew were all indian, but no names. That is interesting that it is being hidden. This article war pulled down. https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:_v_oBGnC7SMJ:https://www.deccanherald.com/national/entire-25-member-crew-of-cargo-ship-stuck-in-suez-canal-is-indian-966628.html+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ua
From wiki:

yep, but that is only a front. The owners are actually The Hartford, a consortium. Check my post on the subject. (Link between Clintons and Evergreen)
Rumour is that it was the first female Egyptian captain ever. I am sure it is unfounded.
And what about the cargo manifest? One day, only, there was a mention that it had hazardous cargo, never more.
It is not. Captain Elselehdar confirmed she was not on that ship.
Got a link or, a name handy? Thanks, Fren.
