I don't think this is "it", but it's attempting to pave the way to make it seem "normal" and common. Just like the vaccines are the actual testing for the "mark."
Or, that's my theory. We all remember many years ago when they said barcodes would be that. I think we see a lot clearer it's more of a physical mark...
