Tennessee is in my list of 3 states to move to when I retire. 8.5 years and I'm qhosting this shithole called the peoples republic of oregon.
Move to eastern Oregon. It's better and you can still have a positive effect on the state. It's important people don't give up on their own homes and work to make them better.
I like Eastern Oregon and have some shooting buddies that live there. Thing is, I can get 2 acres and a 2000 sq/ft home in Tennessee for what a 1600 sq/ft manufactured home on a 1/2 acre would cost in Eastern Oregon. Being retired military there's a LOT of large bases within a short drive of where I'm looking. Also looking at Texas and Idaho but Idaho is starting to get Californicated.
Yes. Idaho is cool but there’s that proximity issue. Texas is great but dang it’s HOT. I settled on a lake in Eastern TN.
What is your opinion on Lake Watauga and Elizabethton? I've been looking on Zillow and various realtor sites. Both seem like nice places. My Wife needs a Catholic Church and there is one in Elizabethton. The climate also seems very similar to the Willamette Valley in Oregon. A little colder in Winter but less rain.
We are glad to have ya.
So is Texas, especially Austin. It's Silicon Valley 2.0 and bringing the silicon Valley people and their ban happy votes
Isn't that going to become a part of Idaho?
Heard some would like that, but doesn't mean it will happen. Time will tell. Now some in Mn want to join South Dakota, too.
Also, no state income tax AND we always have a balanced budget. It's how a free state SHOULD be run.
I'm considering moving there next year when the oldest graduates.
Just work to make wherever you are better.
When the shit hits the fan, do you really wanna be in a district with a soros placed DA?
You don't have to leave state to avoid that. You can move to another city and continue to try to work on making your state great. Besides, there's not guarantee someone won't be bought out or 'placed' wherever else you go. May as well stay with the ones you love in the area you are familiar with and make changes there. That would be way more helpful.
I just did it. C’MON MAN!
Yea same here. NJ is a lost cause. Hey, for those of you in Tennessee, don't worry. I don't vote for lame ass, chicken shit RINOs or dems. I go through a lengthy investigation process before voting. Which...is why I barely vote for anyone in Jersey. God damn is alot of our politicians sketchy.
That has to be where I’m from lol Eastern TN, by chance?
Yep. Moving to the smaller towns is the way to go. Moved here from northwest Indiana in 1985. Two hours west of Nashville. Much friendlier people and yes, lots of preppers lol
