It didn't ask for a password, just a username and an email address (I used a disposable one).
I didn't get an email and didn't need to confirm anything - it just told me that my chosen username was reserved.
Very weird and a little suspicious, but I didn't give them anything of value.

I decided to click on the terms of agreement and privacy policy. The Terms of Agreement is a copy of the US Constitution. I was pleasantly surprised.
