Okay, so you want to traceroute back to see if they belong to the same subnet.
Well, if you throw darts in the dark and they all hit around the same area then you know there is something there. If you see the shills keep coming back with different IPs in the same general range, you know they have control of that range. Whether they are in the same physical subnet at the router level or not is probably of minimal interest.
Doing an IP looking would be interesting, but my guess is that any admin worth their salt would have already done it to at least report abuse. So I am assuming these are IPs that dont give much useful info regarding their owner.
It would be far more interesting to maintain a database of these IPs and share it with other patriots running other sites and develop some intel regarding their methods. Anytime a user gets created on any forum from one of those IPs - boom - tag it and run their posts and activities through some AI and try and learn about their techniques and perhaps turn it against them.
Eventually we can create anti-shill shillbots that herd these shills and force them to engage with nonsensical stuff making them think they are winning, but just wasting their time.

Just the opposite. It is important thing to know. And bellow is why

The question is WHAT IS there. Individual users or shill centralized "army" ? One country or many countries. And so on.

Never assume somebody you don't know did his/her job well. Usually it is not truth, because majority of people is usualy lazy or dumb.Sorry, but it is the truth.
If somebody got only it is "cluster of IPs" then good but it isn't showing big skill or effort. For true server admin it would be routine thing really...

Then no information is too kind of information. We see some post. I would like to see what those admin did really.

Good idea unless it is TOR.Might be very good, but it is more complicated than you think. But recognising source of shills might be useful too.
How would traceroute / ping help you in this situation ?
Well glad somebody get interested.
certain chunks of IP ok ? So now: "ping -R" or traceroute.
And you get for sure if it is subnetwork or not and server trace to it.Those admin probably even done it,but used it wrong. IPs are necessary.
Not working for Tor users ,but first move in investigation is list of ips,and confirming it is subnetwork right ?
and next move is of course
or
or checking adresses manually - for example by: https://www.iplocation.net/
So simple. But console version could be scripted by shell script not needing any programming skill - it needs only linux or BSD.
SO:
1.ping -R or traceroute. - to get list of IPs (last and 1 before) 2.whois or curl https:ipinfo.io/ - to check where it end
Simple.
