On a more serious note:
Vitamin D deficiency is common in people who are older, people who have a body mass index of 30 or higher (obesity), and people who have high blood pressure (hypertension). Vitamin D deficiency is also common among Hispanic and Black people. These groups have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19. These factors also increase the risk of severe COVID-19 symptoms.
It comes as no surprise that people that are overweight or obese are hospitalized for Covid more often than others, because they are also more likely to have low Vitamin D levels.
Studies show that patients with lower vitamin D levels who are diagnosed with COVID-19 tend to have worse outcomes. One of these was published last month in PLoS ONETrusted Source. Researchers found that people hospitalized for COVID-19 who were deficient in vitamin D were more likely to have severe symptoms or die from COVID-19.
Make sure you are taking your vitamins, but most particularly at least 4,000 iu per day in Vitamin D3. Then... refuse to eat the doughnut.
Don't forget that Vitamin D3 is only fat soluble. That is, you will not absorb it without pairing fat with D3 consumption. Eat it with something oily or fatty.
