Sadly, part of the problem with real journalism is that it's just not popular. Most journalists could never afford to start their own media company so they have to work for others and those others have agendas, preferences, and desired narratives.
Ratings must be high enough to keep the job and good honest news rarely pulls good ratings. Many would find proper news to be boring. Part of the problem is the media but part of the problem is the viewers also.
