We are a small town. We recently had a teen suicide which has devastated my 15 year old daughter. He did virtual learning (2nd semester you had to choose in person or virtual). My daughter is in person learning.
Here's my email with much help from a previous thread from someone on here who had over 30 citations why masks are bad.
Subject line: Your 'science' is off on the mask mandate for schools... let the kids and employees breathe! If your employees are afraid of the virus, they can go get the vaccine. Stop trying to control them this way and let them have their lives back. What you are doing is criminal. This virus is neither deadly to kids, nor adults under age 70, and even then have a 99.7% survival rate. A vaccine is available to all elderly and at risk individuals. The virus has calmed down and most report only flu-like symptoms. There is no sane reason why any organization should insist everyone continue wearing masks. Here are just a few (I can find many more) that support non-mask wearing. I know for a fact my daughter does not even put on a clean one every day... how can that be good for her or others around her.? She has a better chance infecting others than preventing infection with whatever she is breathing. She suffered all year with a sore throat and chronic strep. You need to really re-evaluate this mandate and stop blindly following what one article in the CDC says, and instead look at real issues facing our children during this "pandemic" (which is over)...isolation, SUICIDE IN OUR OWN DISTRICT, face coverings affecting not being able to read facial expressions (hard for young children especially), depression, anxiety, failing grades, lack of socializing, and more. Please do this ONE THING that can make a huge difference and get rid of the masks that do no good anyway.... we are way beyond needing them anymore.

Lopp & Edwards reviewed the surgical literature in 2014 and found “no statistically significant difference in infection rates between the masked and unmasked group in any of the trials.

Salassa and Swiontkowski, in 2014, investigated the necessity of scrubs, masks and head coverings in the operating room and concluded that “there is no evidence that these measures reduce the prevalence of surgical site infection

Bahli did a systematic literature review in 2009 and found that “no significant difference in the incidence ofpostoperative wound infection was observed between masks groups and groups operated with no masks

Bahli in Sweden, recognizing the lack of evidence supporting the use of masks, ceased requiring them in 2010 for anesthesiologists and other non-scrubbed personnel in the operating room. “Our decision to no longer require routine surgical masks for personnel not scrubbed for surgery is a departure from common practice. But the evidence to support this practice does not exist,” wrote Dr. Eva Sellden.
Surgeons at the Karolinska Institutein 2010, reported on obstetric, gynecological, general, orthopaedic, breast and urological surgeries performed on 827 patients. All non-scrubbed staff wore masks in half the surgeries, and none of the non-scrubbed staff wore masks in half the surgeries. Surgical site infections occurred in 11.5% of the Mask group, and in only 9.0% of the No Mask group.

Ha’eri and Wiley in 1980, applied human albumin microspheres to the interior of surgical masks in 20 operations. At the end of each operation, wound washings were examined under microscope. “Particle contamination of the wound was demonstrated in all experiments.”

Laslett and Sabin, in 1989, found that caps and masks were not necessary during cardiac catheterization. “No infections were found in any patient, regardless of whether a cap or mask was used

In Tunevall’s 1991 study,a general surgical team wore no masks in half of their surgeries for two years. After 1,537 operations performed with masks, the wound infection rate was 4.7%, while after 1,551 operations performed without masks, the wound infection rate was only 3.5%

A review by Skinner and Sutton in 2001 concluded that “The evidence for discontinuing the use of surgical face masks would appear to be stronger than the evidence available to support their continued use
Sincerely,
A concerned parent of a daughter who needs to take her mask off and get her life back in order
Nice.....but if you get any response it will be some kind of BS response full of excuses....
Exactly, get all of the parents you can find that are on board go to the principal, corner his ass and let him have it.
Todd Herman espoused this very thing less than an hour ago on the Rush Limbaugh Show. Imagine what just 25 parents might do. Imagine 1,000.
Todd Herman and sometimes Mark Steyn. Herman is fantastic, and so is Steyn, both for different reasons. Herman literally remembers every clip and soundbite and literally teethed on rush. Steyn has his funny self-deprecating British humor and an attitude of "My country sucks but MAGA!"
