Why would one rely solely on an online backup? Have multiple physical hard drive and USB backups as well.
One man of my acquaintance compiled years of research on his website. He had no other backup. Then he went off on an extended holiday, the bill came due to renew his hosted space, he wasn't around to pay it. The result was that his years of effort were erased, and only a piece here and there was in the Internet archive. He had to reconstruct almost everything from memory.

I'd reupload the backup just to see if they do it again.
