I’m also of the thought that a blanket statement about “arresting journalists” isn’t a good slogan. Fake News garbage with an agenda can be taken off airwaves/removed from publication/etc (CNN, NYT, WaPo), but Fair + Free Press is in the Bill of Rights. We need it to be a free republic, unless we just want Soviet-style state propaganda to be the only “news” available. While I want those who abuse their megaphones to pay the piper, I do NOT want to live behind a new iron curtain.
Biased news is bad, yes, and a cancer on democracy, but giving the state power to arrest / suppress actual journalism is just replacing one dictatorship with another.
