this is going to be backfire bigly when already poor and struggling (independent) artists start losing their main source of income after just getting it back for the first time in over a year. When the crowds are less and the main source of $ is unreliable, I feel this will be the breaking point and hopefully artists wake the f*** up and get out of the cult of the left, at the very least.
Artists are supposed to be all for independence and counter culture anyways, not sure how they all ended up so brainwashed beyond measure, shilling for big corps who tell them they're the minority.
There are always casualties of war but in this aspect it would be financially more than anything. Not every up and coming independent artist will make it big. Many that make it big are corrupt and agree to shady deals to be promoted heavily to become famous.
The famous artists rarely ever become famous from sheer talent alone. Some of the best music I've heard came from more independent artists that weren't known worldwide but they chose not to sell out to the corporate elite.
We cannot force anyone to support and not support any artist but we can choose who to support personally. We can easily cause the most famous celebrities to see their earnings cut in half which would be a major blow to them and their lifestyles.
Some will say to keep up the pressure until these types of people relent but I feel that we should never relent. Those that chose a path against the common person should lose profits until they are no longer relevant.
Let them lose profits until they have to lose their music career and flip burgers or whatever low pay work needed to survive in life. We should support those that appreciate our support and money and let them become famous and rich while those that were against us will have to become a common person like many of us are.
We have the power of our wallets and that can be a very powerful thing.
I'm an artist (but I don't perform)
