My mother was launched into welfare, with five kids, when the loser who "taught me to swim" (think ground zero) left for another woman. Mom put herself through beauty school, got us OFF of welfare, met my step-dad and together they pulled us from no class to lower middle class, then to middle class.

I haven't seen the "privilege" that I supposedly have . . as a professional who owns my business, I am prevented from securing many public contracts due to racial preferences and "affirmative action" quotas. Even though my Hispanic wife owns HALF of the business, and does the bookkeeping and office management, because she is not a licensed professional in my industry she cannot obtain certification as Woman- OR Minority-Owned business. Even SHE suffers, because she is married to a white man!
