Interesting. Neither tanker was fully laden, if you go by the draught declarations (Minerva Nike 8.5.m/14.9m max; Rumford 7.5m/14.6 max) and both vessels seemed to have grounding issues within one nm of each other, at the point in the channel where it meets the very southernmost edge of the Great Bitter Lake. Both vessels were northbound at the time of their grounding issues, same as the Ever Given.
