Why this endless fulminating “jab” hate?

That term is far more dismissive and pejorative than “vaccine”, and I’d personally never heard it referenced in the context of pharmaceutical injections until this “Covid gene therapy shot” (happy?) started rolling out. I’m curious if others across the US had regularly heard/used the term “jab” to reference vaccinations in a benign way before all this?

Are you English or something? I understand that they use this use this term more colloquially; here in the US, a “jab” sounds unpleasant and nefarious, as welcome as getting a stick shoved up your fanny. Let’s not go out of our way to normalize or rehabilitate the word “jab” here. Let’s unhesitatingly hang this millstone of an epithet around the neck of this unwelcome, unnecessary “gene therapy shot”.
