I had something very similar happen to me in about October of 2018. It was discovered I wasn't a Trump hater, I read conservative sites on my breaks and lunch hours, and ultimately they laid me off. First thing you do is file for unemployment so you're not broke - not sure what state you're in, but in many cases if they can't prove they let you go for actually breaking a company policy, you will come out ahead there. I had a company appeal my unemployment claim once after I was fired without cause and I won because I could prove I never broke any company policies and they couldn't prove I did. But more than that, find something else - somewhere else you will be happy and not surrounded by assholes. I ended up spending the holidays of 2018 at home with my family, interviewing all the while, and found a great job that I'm still at, where my boss is great and knows I am a conservative (everyone here does) and respects my beliefs. I found what may be the best job ever for me. But upon losing the one before it, I was in a very dark place, not knowing what would happen, it's scary. Just have faith that there is more out there - and sometimes one door has to close for another one to open. I wish you the best of luck - you'll be OK. :)
