If I know my subject as I should, if I am to be well prepared, then everything else is presentation.

Think of a guitar player going on stage. If he knows his stuff the butterflies dissappear and the performance comes across well even with a few fumbles here and there.
If he is not concerned about knowing the music he can then focus on the show at hand.

One good question to ask when they say something that you disagree with is, 'Do you have any varying viewpoints on that?'
If yes, that's good. There may be hope, and they may be willing to discuss things somewhat rationally.
If no, then you can point out their lack of due diligence and go on to explain your views, once again, from a position of strength.

Don't be dragged into small, petty arguments. Stay with larger Bedrock points.
Be an actor.
