So take our situation in 2021 and drop Jesus into America's dilema. What side would he be on. Patriots or D.S.? Who's side did the Jewish Religious Nationalists believe Jesus was on in his day? Are we in 2021 any different than the Jews of biblical Jesus' time? Are we looking for a Q savior or a Trump savior or Military Savior because we want justice for evil or their crimes like the Roman occupiers of Isreal. Who did Jesus call to be his disciples. We're they so called Righteous or self proclaimed good people...No. Once we realize we are all sinners and fall short then we can start to bridge our devide with all Americans and become whole again and look to Jesus to change our thinking. He is the Savior of all who believe in him.

I believe there are a number of factors for us to consider. If we look to another person on this earth for a savior we will always be let down. And I don't think that Donald Trump would consider himself to be our savior. But, I also believe that God uses people that He can trust to work out things on our behalf, allowing us to each focus on our individual talents and prayers. Jesus would not be caught off guard by the wicked behaviors going on in today's world. The things that were going on before Jesus came to earth led God to destroy people, places, and things. Of course, because the battle is between God and Satan we cannot fathom what the whole truth is - other than what we have been asked by Jesus to do - to go into all the world preaching the good news of salvation so that none would perish. God suggested in II Chronicles 7:14 that if we would humble ourselves and turn from our wicked ways He would heal our land (paraphrasing here) I don't think any of us has ALL the answers (unless we are a time traveler and even they may not know everything) Romans tells us that God puts people in positions of authority and uses them to accomplish certain things. i.e., King Nebucunezzer the first ruler of Babylon written about in the book of Daniel - then Darius, Alexander the Great, and all those in between - all fulfilled the prophecies of Daniel (all but the one yet to come) - I personally am very glad that I know what that book says- it brings relief to me in times when I find myself wondering what to pray about, for, and for whom. I also think about the story of Jacob wrestling with the angel all night - then having his hip pulled out of joint - told the angel "I will not let you go until you bless me!" He also realized that the angel was a representative of God and he asked God to answer a question, "Are you for ME or are you for my enemies?" To which God replied, "Neither, I'm not for you and I'm not for your enemies - it's not about me being for YOU - it's about YOU being for me." Jesus took sides - once and for all - at the Cross of Calvary. He took our side and upon his last breath, He accomplished God's will for us to not perish and go to Hell - but to have eternal life. That means that no person is left out of that equation - the good the bad and the ugly - ALL are able to have eternal life. Nothing can take that away from those who accepted His death and took His gift. There will be consequences for what we have done since the day we accepted Him. But we just know that He is Just and He is faithful to His Word.
