Because not all of us want that. Like me. Freedom of religion means I don’t have to live under a Jesus statue any more than I have to live under a Mohammad statue.

Many of the founding fathers actually practiced deism, not theism.

E: for the uneducated, Atheist is not the same as deist.

Deism accepts god but rejects the Bible
