Is it safe to assume that when the Devil tempted Nirvana, Dave Grohl succumbed, but Kurt Cobain didn't...or maybe did but then had second thoughts...and paid the ultimate price?

Kurt Cobain was murdered by Courtney Love. I'm of the opinion that Cobain was not murdered by the DS, though I do not think he would've had any ties with the DS and if anything, he would've taking an opposing position to the swamp.
