Just haven’t been able to see the angle here. There’s going to be a lot of smart, angry people looking for someone to blame when the bodies start stacking up.

Because they no longer have a use for them. Flock is useless so slaughter it. They know we know what they're up to but they feel we'll be easily controlled since our numbers will be small compared to the over all population numbers left.
