There's too many ways in and out of the White House that wouldn't be visible to the public as is. I'm doubtful that's the reason.

They supposedly began flooding the tunnels this week under the national mall and congress. It could include the Whitehouse.

Evidence google's hiding something here. any referneces to flooding +dc capitol building come up with the jan 6 incident and a LOT of it is fresh today.
