Until the whole story comes out all is speculation.
@AndreaStrauss
It was reported that President Trump told VP Pence that he could go down in history as "a patriot" or "a pssy". Everyone assumes that Pence was a "pssy". I see it exactly opposite. Pence chose the PATRIOT move -- we are now seeing the election fraud investigations escalated to a point that we will have resolution in a few months. Had VP Pence chosen to send the electors back to the states, the consequences would have been as follows:
(1) terrible precedent for all future elections;
(2) VP position would have been made supremely powerful and corruptible by both parties;
(3) the same state courts that rejected evidentiary hearings in the first place would have tied up all state litigation for YEARS!
Plus, there would probably have been REAL violence and riots in DC that day, maybe spreading into a civil war. In contrast to many, I see Pence as a hero who is being maligned by his own...just terrible... no wonder he is "heart-broken". I wish him God's grace and protection. It takes a strong man to suffer the scapegoat smears he has had to endure. I have watched him for YEARS and know he is a steadfast America Patriot. He was one of the few who spoke up for citizens during the O years and he was one of the best Governors that Indiana ever had. And, he is a lifetime supporter of the military.
The GOP LOVED HIM when he flattened Harris in the debate...and now they brandish him a traitor without fully understanding what transpired on Jan 6. That is the reason I am no longer a Republican...they are much harder on their own than on their enemies, to the point where they undercut their own heroes. God Bless VP Pence. He has indeed been a loyal and hardworking partner to our President Trump.
Furthermore, no one questions ALL the Republican Congress members who -- instead of postponing the debate about the election for a day when things were calmer CHOSE to cower and vote to certify the electors with no debate about election fraud. Many of them are still held up by Republicans, while Pence is blamed.
There is much more to the Jan 6 story but people are so quick to want a scapegoat. It's disheartening and leads us all down incorrect paths.
