I hate that F-word as well. Fearing God sounds like we've pissed God off and we might get jolted by a lightning bolt. Fear is a very negative word, especially in this context. It's an old fashioned term. As if we're to have fear. This is the way manmade religions have made it and it's why religion turns so many good, positive people off. Much better to use words like love and harmony. Not fear.
No, "free love and hugs and butt sex for everyone" is how we got here, fearfulness is analogous to wakefulness. We need some more "Hell fire and ashes" pastors out there, not "God loves just as you are, even if you're an active child molestor teehee".
I debated on replying to this comment but I have to completely disagree ... FEAR is in NO WAY analogous to WAKEFULNESS. If that were AT ALL true ... the Covidiots running around wearing two masks and getting every brand of "Vax shot" on the market are "AWAKE" and the rest of us are asleep. According to your logic the libtards are the virtuous ones because they are terrified and are there fore 'AWAKE'.
FYSA ... We "got here" because of the love of money ... not free love. Those things are distractions from the TRULY DEEPLY EVIL mechanisms that got us here. Greed for money and power. That's what got us here.
Agree with this. "Fearing" God is stupid. "Fearing" what will happen if you color outside the moral lines ... that is something altogether different. Don't FEAR God. Fear what you'll miss out on if your a piece of shit during your time on earth.
Divine energy will burn you to a crisp if youre full of darkness, you'd better fear it enough to walk in the light.
While I agree with your sentiment, I totally feared my Dad when my Mom said I was going to get a spanking when Dad got home, and he was the most loving and kind father you could have. It's healthy to fear things like gravity and explosives and such, it makes you act wisely. This doesn't mean you're shaking in your boots in fear, but that you know what could be done in undesirable circumstances. If we fear anyone, it should be the omnipotent, all-knowing God.
So this is a scriptural comment and not just an opinion, look up Proverbs 9:10
Well said and I'm happy you had a great dad, as have I.
It means fear of perdition.
God respecting is probably a better way to express that
100% this. God did not give us free will and create us in his own image so that we could fear him. God is our ally, not our ruler.
This is a slave mindset. Satan wants to rule you. God wants you to be free.
