I live in North Carolina where masks are mandated everywhere. I wanted to start my campaign immediately after realizing the potatus was going to be a thing, but I had a major health crisus happen at the same time. I had too much aluminum in my system and likely other heavy metals. Long story, but I am on the mend now and have been quietly disobeying the mask mandates for about a week now. I needed to get healthy enough to fight before fighting. I hope this makes sense.
At first nobody said a word and I noticed some interesting things. Some places do not have employees wearing masks unless a masked customer comes in. I am seeing sadness in eyes of mask wearers. Last night I had a clerk fuss at me because someone complained to them.
Am I crazy for pushing back deep in mask territory? Often I am the only one not wearing a mask. Are there stores I should gravitate towards? After having an employee fuss at me, I feel somewhat obligated to speak to management and see exactly where they stand on customers like me. The clerk seemed to imply that I was a disturbance to their store because I was not following the rules of the store. I want to find the most peaceful way to end this madness. Any ideas are welcome. I do not want to discuss why I will not be wearing a mask. HIPAA is real. Cheers!
You're fighting the right battle, this is the only way it ends. Absolutely ask for manager/owner if some weenie-tucked soy employee gives you shit about the mask. If you leave and quit shopping there, manager/owner has no idea how mask pushing is costing them customers, as soyboy won't say anything. Playing along and wearing a mask so u don't hurt people's feelings, is why this shit is still going on. It actively fuels the fear. This is a battle I'm willing to take all the way to them having to call the police to ask me to leave. I have NEVER reached that step. Ignore mask hall monitor greeters and if they persist tell them you have a medical exemption, and keep walking. If it escalates to a manager confronting you, tell them you have a medical exemption and forcing a mask is an ADA violation.
