'Blocking the sun' is not literal... it a DS comm.

The sun is the coming 'enlightenment', or 'great awakening' aka the 'Second resurrection' in Revelation (The first resurrection being immediately after Christ died, when the 'tombs of the saints' broke open)

The enemy wants to stop the world from WAKING UP to what they are doing.
