Otherwise, he wouldn't wink, he isn't even masked, so seems like a stupid thing to do to go on television, and literally allude to the fact that you're going to be throwing cans of soup at the police. His wink, the way he worded everything so deliberately well, the fact that he insinuated a lot, plus his very self-assured demeanor - I want to think he's a Trump supporter playing CNN.
